i have blagged an escort estate from work for free its a mk4 3 door its runs well but the body is not great mainly on the rear posts and roof by the tailgate so i have been thinking of cutting the roof off and turning it in to a pickup like the escort p90 im body repair by trade so thats not a problem im just wondering what id have to do about the v5 do i have to have the car checked if i do this and do i need the v5 changed i know there has been a few pick ups converted from normal mk4s any advice would be get

surely the rear of the car is structural so you will probably have to put a cage in it.
