chip

he is delighted that he took that stupid gt35 off that turbo really is good on bigger CC's well over 2 litres

personal think that the GT35 on a 2.0 litre is a waste of time the Gt30 better suited the 2.0litre engine he proved it today on track

he said he should have done it yrs ago

Marco, glad to hear it, ive been nagging him on and off for a while, so I would have felt a bit of a cunt if he put it on and it was shit, although im sure me nagging him wasnt the reason for doing it of course.

Richie, im sure a bit of surge can be relatively easily mapped around

Surge? BOLLOCKS....

It doesn't surge one little bit if you floor it in 5th at 3500rpm let alone at 5000rpm in 3rd!

he has a Tiger stripped 'Corsa Combat' Saff..... and so its clear the Geezers got SHIT in his ears as well as his fooking eyes!!!

The GT30 is the soooooooooooooooo fooking good. Suits the engine soooooooooo well, as Marco said... should have done it YEARS ago!

Enormous power band now!

Stav.... I now have the worlds first Sierra Automatic trackcar. You just select 3rd gear and drive it like a big go kart! 2 gearchanges the whole lap of Combe now!

Pulls HARD to 8300rpm no worries PROPER Turbo

Even you will be SHOCKED at just how different the engine is now!

Car was looking mighty fast Lee.

Can i ask for some opinions regarding turbos, im building the zetec T engine at mo and the turbo needs to be decided upon.

For a power delivery of around 400 bhp would you recommend a GT28 or a GT30.

LMAO @ "Phantom surge"

Glad to hear its going well Lee.

Must be nice to put your foot down and something actually happen straight away, I thought someone had nicked the turbo when I drove it on the GT35 and put my foot down at about 3500rpm

Depends what GT28, as most wont go near 400bhp.

i remember asking about this before i got my T34. I think stav said that a GT28r wasnt a "proper" Gt28 or something. If you run any of the GT series, do you need a custom manifold to suit to get the best from them? im not too clued up on GT's

"Disco potato" or "GT28RS" is the term you want to be banging into google for the right blower for 350+, but 400 is really pushing it.

Its the big decsion of choosing what power figure to go for..

Run 370 bhp on a Gt28

Or go for 400+ on a Gt30.

I cant decide at the moment.

Eh? No i didnt.

28RS would be lucky to do a genuine 350 imo.

but there are much bigger 28 based turbos that do 400 odd.

Garrett's official site for it:

http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbob...S_739548_1.htm

And compressor map:

So as you can see, you will be off the edge of it well and truely at 400

A 2871 one though, is very comfy at 400bhp:
http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbob..._472560_15.htm

Map for it:

If you dont know what to look for on the map, click here for a guide to reading them:
