Default My new job

Well i got myself a new job last week, so that is going to end my 6 weeks of chilling out and spending. I am going to be the new First officer on the yacht below. She is a classic Feadship (best yacht builders around) .

I will be responsible for approximatly 6 people and the boat alot of the times, i fly to greece to join her all being well and am going to spend the winter in a ship yard doing a 5 month refit (not a major refit)

I have spent the last 3 years doing courses to get myself in the position to take this type of job and have along with my gilfriend and father spent 10's of thousands getting the nessacry qualifications to be in that position, hence why my car has taken a major back seat and has not really been important of late, hopefully now after my trial period i will be in the position to either restore her of break her and get some thing newer and more reliable as much as i hate the word.

Cheers Guys,

It has been a long time coming this type of job for me, it has a large pay rise over the job below which warrants the paying out for courses but then off course you have to get the job.

Bob this guy apprently has 2 Swan 75's and the boat sails in company witha 40m sail boat,

but as much as i can sail and enjoy a leasurely sail i am not a Wafi (wind assited fucking idiot)

2 x 75s holy shit those things are fast downwind they go like a train, i did antigua sail week and did a day sail on one ( i forget the name but when we put the kite up the thing took off like a scolded cat.we did 5 crossings across the pond in the 57 great fun . All the very best of luck to you M8 hope you dont get too many tosser charter partys, as they can be really hard work, mind you your job will be 24/7 but ENJOY. regards Bob

She has just been put on the charter market Bob, but we have 5 months in the yard first and then the Genoa charter show in May. Will be fun because i like getting tips, i have not worked on a charter boat for about 6/7 years now and the buzz of getting a good tip is awesome.

The biggest thing i have sailed is a 67ft Bt Challenge yacht as 2ed mate, they can shift with the kite up but are very heavy boats and pound like nobodys buisness.
