Default Ka Zetec Ultimate 2008-11-16 (Engine loom)

Hello all not going have a long introduction about myself but Im from Holland and Ford passionist . I have two projects at the moment the first one is my daily ride: Ford Ka. The second one is my Fiesta RS Turbo which I have started working on just.

My Ka project started as a very standard d arte edition with collection bumpers and black leather interior:

The first thing was to get rid of the orange indicators at the front and some new rear lights:

Next came the Ford racing arches:

And some lowering:

And last but not least my new wheels:

Already fitted the RS badge I found on one of the donor cars for my future mods:

I ve got a few more mods ready to go no but not yet finished like my new booth and spoiler:

When these are fitted everything like the racing arches and mirrors will be color coded to match the car.

But most important my new engine and brake upgrade. The 2.0 Zetec which will have to be trottle bodied and some other changes to get some more revs and power out of it:

My reardisc conversion from the focus RS (will get the 300mm disc upgrade from the ST170 on the front):

Maybe some other mods in the future aswell but first have to see how this works out...

Calipers and discs are the same as the ST170 but all others are different (calipers might be the same). Hubs differ a bit: wider and stronger.

Did cost me quite a lot but thats the price for wanting something special

If you're sugesting rear wheel drive? Not sure tho.

My rear axle will be a bit wider when installing the Focus rearhubs to get the reardisc conversion but not sure yet how much wider they can take

The rear spoiler and shaved booth will be the finishing touches.

I'm sorting out the bits for the engine right now (that's why I've registered on this forum) so hopefully I can start the conversion before year end.

4wd has been done before so it's always possible but for now I'll stick to fwd.

I'm only using the rear hubs of the Focus RS and they are about 3 inch wide which is a bit wider compared to the rear hubs plus drums of the Ka but not sure how much. Guess it's only 1 inch what will make the wheel fit even better in the arch.

Might get some 5mm spacers on the front as well to gain some width

Default non turbo plenum (help needed)

Still looking for the best setup for my 2.0 Zetec before I put it in the Ka. Now I was wondering what the dis-/advantages are for a plenum on a non turbod engine?

This would look great:

...and it will help me get the cold air to the inlet instead of feeding it over the hot engine before. Also saves a bit of room at the top of the engine bay so I could still use the strutbrace.

Ive seen a lot of those plenums on turbod cars but IRCC its nothing more than an aircollector between trottlebody and the inlet. On the racing Puma there is used one which helps the midrange revs. produce more power.

Seen a few DIY job which look pretty easy to do:

i dont think there are many disadvantages of having an plenum on a n/a motor except maybe lack of air intake which i doubt will happen,

personally i preffer to to see big trumpets sticking out of a n/a engine

big trumpets all the way! look so much cooler!
erm and as for the plenum, design it too big and air may be sitting there in the hot engine bay for longer than it would without the plenum, hot air=bad air, keep that in mind
some reason i cant see the top pics, but lookin cool
u sure u dont want 4wd its fun

Focus RS and ST170 rear disks are 100% NOT the same. Both are 280mm but they have different offsets due to the track being 10mm wider each side on the RS.

The calipers are all the same though, only the carrier differs from a 2.0 compared to a ST/RS

Seen quite a few nice KA projects lately, looking forward to seeing B9KOS's example pretty soon

But custom inlets are pretty cool, and really cheap to do. Here's our example...

Its not my car, the owner is a good friend and a lot has been done. I own the black Focus Turbo that was with him on the day, as can be seen below

The styling matches a complete showcar, something for everyone really, that's what it was intended for. Missfires were later sorted after the show, on the way to the Nurburgring

Default alternator bracket???

For my zetec ka, i've been looking around for an old cvh alternator bracket-can't find one!
Does any one know what the bracket on the photo of the zetec is? Near the top-i don't know how to link it?
If any one can let me know.

Cheers.
