has to be a mtx75 very strong box in standard form ,failing that a cts stage two plus, but the bc box has to be rebuilt yearly especially if you are into top speed events and sprints, 350fbt or more then you are asking a lot of the bc box... everything about the mtx75 better bigger gear set, bearings, shafts etc. no one knows how much a mtx75 built to the same spec as the cts stage two can handle.. there will soon be an answer

Sean, just on initial inspection, I didn't think the MTX gears were actually any beefier, which is what is putting me off that conversion, considering how much it costs to do it.

dont think that would be a problem, when cts have said their stage 2 pluss boxes will hold, if they dont.. deliverer it back and surly the would fix it

Basicly you need a ST170 flywheel and clutch, new drive shafts, hydraulic clutch (there is no prevision to go mechanical in the box), inner wing mount, torque reaction mount under the floor and the whole lever assy inc cables. You dont need to cut any metal off the car.

Is there a sequential shifter available for any of the Ford FWD gearboxes? Has anyone ever built one to their RST?

I'm more thinking of just a sequential type drum changer for a normal gearbox the ST170 6-speed or the MTX-75.

What sort of spec you got for 350bhp?

Is it still a 1.6?

Thanks alot

I take it the drive shafts need to be custom made??

Excuse my lack of knowledge but what is the torque reaction mount? How hard is it to incorporate to a s1?

If there is no need to start chopping away I take it the conversion can be done without needing the car booking into a bodyshop...

sorry for hijacking post *again*

the st170 gearbox holes for the starter motor are differant to the zetec & cvh gearbox ones, but they would work with a bit of modification

You do have to fabricate an inner wing gearbox mount to suspend the gearbox and the torque reaction mount again does have to be welded on to the floor.
Currently dont have any pics.
