do you mean an 82 degree one? cossie one doesnt fit!!

 

do you mean a cosworth fan switch and the answer is yes it will be safer for your engine mate

is the thermostat not what controls the fan too?

 

ideally get both the thermostat is there so the engine will try and maintain that temp eg 82

the cosworth fan switch will bring the fan on at a lower temp than the rst one so that it will not get as hot in traffic etc
