Seen one of these that caught my eye for sale recently. it was silver in colour with 75k cage in rear etc. looked the part.
whats the thoughts on it? i'm new to this old skool thing.
Is it hard to fit a zetec lump for power plant?

Under hard acceleration the sierra rear creates negitive camber which reduces grip because the tyre is not in full contact with the road
zetec will pysically drop straight in n the parts will cost around £1000, thats if you want to run it on webbers or bike carbs, ive heard of people runnin the standard ignition but dave college, AKA, the master of zetec conversions, told me its a good idea to get crank trigger ingnition off a mk3 fiesta, should see a healthy 120bhp out of the silver top on bike carbs or twin 40's. but if you've got the cash then 200bhp is relatively easy. or stay old skool and tune the xflow, push rod performance all the way for me,
Zetec will be a straight fit not much work required you can find kits ready to fit tough i agree with ex351d you d better upgrade the rear end if you want to drop more power in an escort and retro al if what you said is correct than why is every company even high performance cars changing to indipendant sus all round?
last thing if you don t want to exceed 200 bhp i think you d be better off using a 2l pinto engine and tuning it. If it was mine that s what i d do :P cheers and good luck

The sierras irs is well know for being shit,ask any sierra cosworth owner on here
well a bad workman always blames his tools i guess. i had a sierra cosworth and an escort mk2 with the same yb engine and all i can say is that the sierra s rear end held and distributed the power better it gave me better traction
