Can you please elaborate on whats happened and have you been back to explain your findings and feelings?

What did it go in for and what has been said to you?

can,t get hold of him. won,t answer e-mails etc. so difficult to get a response.

last time i had to involve the police to get it returned.

anyway head returned looked fine fitted it to engine.

ran engine lack of compression. did a cylinder leakage test leaking on exhaust valves. removed head and had it checked. every exhaust valve seats is at different depths. some so deep they leave no clearance. so once cams fitted they are kept of there seats a little hence lack of compression.

so fed up now that i will once again have to involve the police if i can,t get any response.

posted on here as i know some of your members use/know him.

and i did mate. thats why i sent my head from wales to london to get it sorted. spoke to him on the phone when it arrived seemed a decent guy.

but the quality of work on this head is shocking. no pair on valves even opens at the same point. sits in the head the same etc.

because of his repution and the fact that i had to wait 18 months for its return i was in a hurry to get it on and didn,t check it.

won,t ever do that again.

then couldn,t see a problem with the cams off as they all sealed. then refitted cams and two valves didn,t even close.

looking like all new seats etc. maybe cheaper getting a new head.

i wish no bad feeling but as i can,t get hold of him and i want a refund thought someone may be able to help out.

no pair of valves even open at the same point (time),how the hell does that happen then?the cams would need to be twisted between every lobe which is just impossible,

also why get the police involved?they will just tell you its a civil matter,

is this thread some sort of witch hunt/slagging off plan?

he's a transformer

but enough with the joking

write him a letter saying he's got 10 working day in which to reply otherwise you will have no option other than to pass it onto the hands of you soliciter

how did you pay?
credit card?

they have big expensive lawyers who will run around after him if you tell them your goods weren't as expected and you want a refund

if you didn't then citezens advice is your best bet

cheers for the replys. i,m not a witch hunt/slagging. he has a very good reputation which is why i used him. just an upset customer trying to get his pride and joy sorted. gutting when you spend so much time and effort to have it fail due to someone else,s faulty workmanship.

sent him a cheque though.

managed to get in touch with gerry this morning who is taking messages for him with a number from a forum member so we will see.

all i want is it sorted. not to cause trouble. if its sorted i will post as such.

if its not i will revive this thread and let you know.

thanks maxiboy

not necessarily, if it is shimmed and the clearances are wrong, the pairs of valves may well open at slightly different times.

i wouldn't be happy with that to be honest, try to get hold of him to settle it, if not, start legal proceedings.

but i think he's saying that some valves aren't even sitting flush in their seats either
so that would mean that either the seat has been cut to deep or that the tappets have been shimmed excesivly to keep them open

or perhaps the vales have just been bent...................
