Ok, so I span a shell on the XRTurbo. Took it home, couldnt be arsed faffing about with it and just threw a spare lump in.

Old engine sat on the side.

My mate Moonie wants to get his RS up and running so he can sell it for a bike and, as mine was a 90 spec block (which he needs for his bearing sizes), I decided to be a kind chap and donate the engine to him. After all, he helped me with putting the new one in and it's only and RS block right??

he stripped it down to get it ready to be bored to take his pistons, only to find it had a steel crank and steel rods in it. About a grand's worth on Burton Power......... and I GAVE it away............ FREE

if he's a mate and you gave it him free, if you can find the standard items for him you should be able to swap them

do you have any use for the steel crank or rods, or is this purely a money (read - greed) thing?
