Can you run to much OIL pressure,
my brother's mk3 RS Turbo as just let go whilst on it's first run.
The turbo was bought brand new about 3 years ago from Turbo technics and is there stage 3 version, tonight was it's first real ride out as after 5 long years he's finished his rebuild.
Now the Turbo as only done 27 miles, yes 27 and just spat oil all over the bay, he as fitted an up rated oil pump and from cold idle the pressure is about 75psi and on warm idle it's on 20 psi and when rev'd at 2000 rpm cold is 80 psi and warm is 40 psi, is this to much pressure or is there an issue with the turbo, although after 3 years warranty means nowt

when it happened to me id never heard of ANYONE it happening to before. maybe we should start a club

mine was i dunno, 2001 maybe? fresh rebuild in the 3door, think i may have still been running it in. went to start it but it just turned over, didnt start.
got out to check under the bonnet and the oil filter had blew and was oil everywhere.
presuming it was a faulty filter i went n got a new one and a load more oil and it did it again!

then once engine out n checked it had caned my brand new fucking bearings

And Jeremy said a couple of years ago they had a batch of 100 made,
20 of which were faulty as had no hole drilled in the relief valve, so over pressured.
But only 5 had been sold before it was noticed, of which only 2 had been fitted and run up.
sounds almost too much, so yeah, deffo fine.
and basically, like most cars, if they all fairly equal across all 4, you know its healthy enough.
its not cyl pressures thats a problem on S13, its fucked big ends.
