Default MY SOLID BLACK ECOS........Mini update 28/7/07

Well as most of you know, i sold my last 2 Ecos's for different reasons, 1st been to fund a house, 2nd as i wanted a more usable car. I then went Jap ( LOVED IT ), but ended up back in the RS Scene.

I bought this Solid Black from Polaris Escos, as a very nice ''usable'' Ecos.

All OE Panels, Only paintwork been the bonnet & Bumper, FSH, All bills etc etc
The car was running a fresh Stg3 by MSD, Breather & Swirlpot, 500 Cooler. Car has also got new Ford Gearbox and Stg2 AP clutch. New AP 362 & 6 Pots, 18" Super T's, Poly bushes etc

I sauced some Rondells ASAP and ditched the T's,

BUT

Me being me, i decided to sort the tappets as one or two seemed noisy, this has now ended up to a FULL rebuild ( Again not fully needed but me being me! )..... WIll get pics of this soon

Whilst the engine & box were out, i trailered the car to a local B/shop, where i was just going to have the front end done, but again me being me ive decided to have everything done bar the roof . Im having the car done in Dupont from start to finish with 3800s Clear ( £333 Per 5l )

Ive got some shots of the stripping so far :

Ive still got to take front & rear glass out, as well as take doors off, but shouldnt take long.
Ive bought New Lower Rear Spolier, New Lights & badges, New engine bay stickers, New Clips, Seals etc

Again I'll get pics as it progresses

Boxes of bits..... Will if ever come back together

I'll keep you all posted!

Polaris Escos : I'm keeping Std lights, 500 grills and Orange indicators!

Lee Reynolds : Garage is getting started on the 6th August!

Staffi : There wasnt anything wrong with the car, infact is was pretty mint. It had the odd mark here and there, so decided to go the whole hog
Engine didnt need what i'm doing either, but once i get started

Twins : The new lower spoiler was enough

Dave cos4x4 : I think i need mentle health check! LOL, Mum and Dad joke '' I was born with a tub of Autoglym and a polishing cloth'' PMSL

Nice one Karl im glad you got sorted....i felt a bit shit tbh that i couldnt do it cheaper for you I HONESTLY cant see how that other guy quoted you so cheap.... We are usually quite cheaper than most builders as we ask our customers after we have completed the work what other quotes they had so that we can base our prices closer to theirs and in some cases were are a lot lower But its still a learning curve the pricing, dont want to be too cheap and sell ourselves short but dont want to outprice ourselves either...so far so good

I hope you get a good job done mate Worked out you way other week in Shelley

Ive given up hope for Nday, so going to get it done for Croft, then going to strip the underside and get stuff powder coated over winter

Lee it all depends on pennies , but going to get bits powdered etc, then give underside a good waxing.

I plan to use this more than my last two

Lee, we REALLY appreciated you coming out to do the quote and we're just sorry we couldn't afford to go with you! Fingers crossed that when it's built, the standard is as good as yours, if not, we're a bit knackered once it's up It's great to hear that you're so busy tho. Where about's in Shelley were you working? We like it there, keep hoping for a house to pop up, but we need big dough to live there!

It was on a little bungalow estate not far from the rising sun pub...only did a garage roof there nothing major. It is a nice place though. Im sure the standard of the garage will be fine. Just keep an eye on them and if ya not happy dont pay em, simple

Ahh yes, Shelley Park. I've been following a garage that our builders put up closely over the last month that he's done just down the road and the standard looks very good! But looks can be deceiving can't they I've got confidence in him though, so that's the main thing. Hope things are good with Lindsay and Esmay

PT : Monster has done me some fancy vin tags and he told me that my car was the 1st gloss black to roll of the production line!!! He gave me original reg plate ( which matches up with original bill of sale ) and the date of production.
Monsters is number 4. Ive had a fancy plaque made which will be on the front panel when done
