The Chinese are one of the cruellest nations in the world. They have NO animal cruelty laws, thats right, absolutely nothing.

As you know it's a country that's fast developing, doing more and more business with the west, becoming richer, is hosting the next olympics, but this sort of thing is widespread and not illegal in China.

Sorry if this offends anyone I know it's a car BBS, but this sort of thing needs to exposed, and people get angry about it, thats why I'm posting. China is very keen to do business with the west and they are well aware of how we perceive them.

This video shows how they get fur from an animal, they do the same for dog and cat fur, they boil dogs and cats ALIVE to eat.

TBH it absolutely churns my stomach thinking of dogs and cats being boiled alive, but at the same time it makes me a total hypocrit as I dont think twice about the fact that in this country people do exactly the same thing with lobsters.

I guess we are all hypocrites to some degree about something, I think cooking lobsters alive is cruel too. Watch the vid chip i couldn't believe some people could do something like that.

This happens is China, hosting our next olympic games, now a major player on the world scene possibly the only other superpower.

If people want to eat whatever animal dog cat cow sheep monkeys whatever or wear real fur there's not alot we can do about it but surely EVERY country, especially one as 'developed' as China, should make a humane death for animals the LAW.

They are fucking Heathans (sp?). They Chinese and Japs used to skin each other alive for fun when they were at war so it's probably second nature.

Economically the implications of countries such as these becoming major players in the global economy is potentially devestating, when you have NO regard for animal cruelty and scarcely any for human safety etc, the potential to make things cheaply is massive, there is NO WAY that we can ever have a manufacturing base in this country that makes financial sense while places like china are able to operate on such a totally different set of rules.

 

My mum is a vegetarian for this very reason.

Unfortunately killing animals for fur and food is the oldest trade known to man and will never stop.

Quick question, and I'm guessing the answer is because they are just disgusting people, but why dont they kill the animal first? I know drugs would be too expensive, but why not just break their neck or slit their throat or something?

Because companies are run for profit, the ONLY reason that animals in this country get a slight (and i do mean slight!) amount of respect from their keepers is because there is pressure applied to them in order to do so, if you removed that legal/social pressure from them in this country then chicken farms and pig farms etc in this country would slide to a similar standard probably!

Somewhere there might be a planet full of people who would condemn me similarly for swatting flies, or putting out mouse traps, or ant poison etc as my culture hasnt taught me not to so to me those things seem acceptable.

Yes it's been their culture....but now they are fast developing world and the need to br brought into line with the rest of the world, cultures learn from different cultures....it's a cruel practice that cannot be compared to swatting a fly, a fly wont feel pain or fear like a dog.

 

They can do it, they are just allowed not to, they would still make a profit if they paid for humanely killing the animals, but they arent given any reason to.

More people like yourself prepared to talk about it and hopefully put people off buying such items is one way to show them that the world their customers live in doesnt want this done for our benefit, but I suspect its going to be 50+ years before a change is seen at a minimum!

A mouse in a trap suffers as badly as the dogs and cats do, so our culture isnt so much different, we just have a system where by if an animal is cute, we tend to humanise how we treat it.

At least their culture is "honest" in that it treats all animals with utter contempt, not just some of them like ours does!

 

I wouldn't say a mouse was quite the same. The rate at which that trap comes down on its head/neck snaps it immediately or crushes their head. 9/10 times I bet they don't even know it happened.

 

If you are vegetarian, and think that gives you exemption from adding to the misery pain and suffering of animals, then spare a second to think about how rabbits are kept from eating the crops by the deliberate use of the disease myxomatosis, a death FAR more horrid than anything that happens to cats/dogs/cows that are killed for food.

If you think a mousetrap always hits the neck, rather than trapping the mouse by its limbs to suffer then you obviously havent seen many.

not much more than 50% effective in "instant death" based on what ive seen first hand from their use, its genuinely unpleasant, and even more so if you arent meticulous about checking the traps often!

Those animals were killed for fur in a terrible way, i don't blame the chinese personally, as u say they know no different. Our governments need to get on theirs, people need to voice concern.....so yes it'll be aoubt 50 years before anythings done....it's not involving oil after all.

Swatting flies and poisoning ants aint comparable. Animals of that size have advanced neurological nervous systems capable of feeling FEAR, pain, they recognize fear in other animals. Skinning a large animal alive is not comparable to poisoning ants or setting mouse traps.

Edited to add : Chip, you mentioned you can't watch the vid while a t work....watch it later and see if you still compare our mousetraps and ant poison to what the vid depicts.

To me, culture or not, this sort of behaviour should surely be abhorrent to the innermost pysche of ANY culture or creed. Culture is eating certain animals i.e. we eat cows, they eat dogs, and although we find it uncomfortable this is their culture.

However, what this vid shows is not culture, this is pure evil cruelty.

As noted the problem is with the way they are doing it, leaving them to die of there own accord after being skinned is just plain wrong and something should be done about it

Mice feel pain, so do chickens and other farm animals we mistreat over here, and I would sooner be killed as those cats are than trapped in agony for days dieing in a trap that hasnt quite hit me right as a mouse often is in this country.

Dont misunderstand me here, I am most certainly NOT ignoring or justifying what happens to those poor cats and dogs, im just saying that most of the people in this country who think they are so much better at treating animals, in fact dont realise the things that happen in their name over here too!
