As I thought.Someone on ebay has advertised some wheels as Ford Monte wheels but they are Compomotive.I made the mistake of bidding on them and now the seller is insisting I pay, even though they are not Monte wheels

The advert quoted 'THESE ARE GENUINE FORD MOTORSPORT RIMS DIRECT FROM FORD'

They are not genuine ford they are Compomotive. Monte wheels where made by OZ racing in Italy, the wheels had oz racing logos which where laquered over from factory so you can't even claim they where just stickers

As I thought then.As my mate pointed out, they can't be Ford,Compomotive and Monte wheels all at the same time.Seller seemed quite off but I'll just have to try sort this out.Quite fancied a set for the toy

The first set I had done where for 15" wheels by a local company that weren't that great, 2nd lot was done for my 18" wheels that where pukka but won't fit a 16" wheel, I've never had a set made for 16" wheels mate You could try Sticker Paul?

it has not been mentioned but in the 1990's FORD MOTORSPORT
100% offered compomotive th wheels for sale. they were in a brochure
aswell as wrc escort kit, motorsport chips and turbochargers.
i have not seen the ebay link but i knew one day i would see a cock
up with this

oh and it pains me to admit it but technically imo they are genuine ford
if they are genuine compomotive ford motorsport wheels
they were offered with a part no
and thats one of the reasons i think compomotive are a bit sneeky,
they copy other peoples wheels

well try arguing that but i have the brochure and it shows WRC
escorts with Magnesium O.Z'S then chongy copies made by
compomotive with the FORD MOTORSPORT LOGO on for sale
i think it stinks tbh, FORD use the real deal for rallying and
for the geezer in the street who wants the look, you get
lookalikes,albeit offical ones
if they are sold as Ford Motorsport wheels unfortunately thats
what they were

I see what you are saying,Ford Motorsport wheels etc.But no Monte has been fitted with them,so in that respect the wording is bad.I beleieved them to be the wheels as fitted to Montes as that was in the name. When in actual fact they are Ford Motorsport rally wheels, which are a different thing and not what I wanted.

Well the seller is relisting the wheels and getting the fees back off ebay.I guess I'm going to be marked on my ebay account in some way now but thats better than ending up with the wrong wheels.

On another note, how much would you look at paying for genuine Monte wheels?

thinking about it they may
actually have been called MONTE by ford in the brochure
hence the ford motorsport monte compomotive bit,
if they were the seller has not done much wrong
but atleast i have pointed out that there is a simillar type
of ford motorsport wheel officially available

I have the same brochure IIRC they are refured to are TH gravel wheels

OZ racing actually call the Monte wheels 'Rally Racing'

I know you want 16's but you can actually still buy the Monte wheels in 15" from M-Sport as the M-Sport Fiesta ST uses them for gravel stages. They are Silver with M-Sport logo's
