Mk1 Focus automatic falling out of gear.

The engine light is permantly on as its the light above it (looks like the hand brake light but in yellow). Basically as its driving it will suddenly go in to neutral, but only when it reachs top gear. Its still nice and smooth but the only way to drive it is to keep it in 2nd. Cars only done 30k or so.

No DTC error codes either!

Just go along to your nearest auto specialist for diagnosis(free) as it is obviously losing pressure.
They have a large diaphragm inside which splits eventually and loses pressure, this MAY be the problem, I'm no expert on these things by any means.
Just sit down as they tell you the cost, or have ambulance on standby!!

depends on which box it is really
some are electonicly controlled so it might just be the ecu that's playing up

did the fault start at the same time as the engine light appearing?

perhaps that's whats causing the problem and th ebox is fine?
