If he's running his doovdé and lukadah tuv through it, make sure it is ready for the hudd. i recommend the joovc models.
does he still use vuuhhs? he may need inputs for that too.

Benn, we have just bought the Onkyo SR674SE Av Amp/Receiver. It has just been superseded by the 605/705 models, so is excellent value for money if you can still get one. Was a £500 amp when they came out, we paid £299 a few weeks ago.
Has Zone-2 function for running a second pair of speakers in another room from an independant source amongst other great features.

Ben - I have just taken delivery of a Yamaha RX-V657 7.1 amp to bench test against my Sony, which I may well be selling on depending on the outcome.....
As new condition, only a year old - £150 collected (gonna cost a lot to post as it weighs a TONNE). I paid £150 for it at the weekend, so if I sell it I just want to make my money back, not make any money on it....

I can tell you already that is is SO easy to use - you get a little mic with it - plug it in and press setup, then choose auto set up.. Sit back and in a couple mins it's done - nothing else to do! It does all the speaker tests (to work out how many speakers you have - 5.1, 7.1, etc) and how far apart they are, etc etc.... Done....
I just need to find out if it's gonna thump the shit otu of my Missions enough in 2ch mode, or if I need to carry on with a dedicated 2ch stereo amp for them....
BTW, still has Richer Sounds warrenty on it till 2009 - and if no claim is made, send the warrent sheet back to them and they give you £49.99 back
