Default what goes into a stage1-2-3-4-5-6 upgrade?

So i was wondering what the differnence between stage1-2-3-4-5-6-etc engine upgrades?

I understand that it depends on the engine builder as to what goes into each stage, but i was wondering is there any ball park specs for each stage?

Typically

1 = standard turbo and injectors with a remap

2 = standard turbo, slightly bigger injectors, remap

3 = t34, greens, remap

Obviously on the escorts though they start with different turbos.

Ive never seen any consistancy at levels about "3" from different tuners.

As chip says but all normally with the usual exhaust and filter change and really need a better breather for STG 3 and upwards if your going to cain it.

everyone is different though mate so cars will differ

MOST stg1 is chip/-31, but recommend to do exhaust air filter anyway.
STG2 different injectors light greens,chip/-31 most don't bother.
STG 3 Dark greens(803's)chip/-31
It is recommended on any car even std to do exhaust and air filter, NEED it as a must on modded ones.
A breather is a good idea, above stage 3 it is major mod time ie turbo, a std T3 will run stage three ok but have a hard time.
ESCORT cossie are slightly different depending on whether small turbo(T28) or large turbo(T34).

So when do you get into head work etc?

You would think that we could come up with some standards just as an fyi for the masses.

Is anyone keen to start something like the Ford Tunings Standards ?

Its would not be rules to live by but more of a Ball park guide.
