Default What do you class as high reving ?

When driving normally and you boot it, what would class as reving high and not hitting the rev limit ?

4k+ ?
5k+ ?

What do you drive normally at ? changing gears ? etc etc

My cut is around 6300-6500, when giving it some I take it to 5800-6000.

when you have a power band that starts at 1500, and finishes at 6k why rev the nuts off them hear them right and your engine will last forever

7k is the max. when i give it some i'll rev to 5.5k (because of the t-3). with the t-34 soon it could even further.

mines set at7200 st the minure,
my 1700YB setup was set at 9200
turbo and engine matchup was poor so ditched the 1700cc setup,

current rev limmit is 6900/7000rpm, dont normally hit the limmiter as it slows you down lol.

Yeah a CVH reving to 8k is very high.

But with my XR3i my limiter is a bit odd in

1st 5.4k
2nd 5.6k
3rd 5.8k
4th 6.0k
5th 6.2k

nuts, but normally if I'm taking it easy it will be on about 3-4k I change gear.

if we are talking generically then id say its quite pointless revving beyond peak power in most scenario's

i have soft cut at 7500, hard cut at 8 (whatever that means lol)

peak power was 7k on rollers but was only revved to 7k but given the turbo its about all over at 7k

shifting at 7k gives me a band of 3500rpm on boost

if you want to know what i think is high for a cossie and a cvh then 8500+ and 7500+ respectively, this obviously isnt in std form

I dont really need to look at the rev counter, i know my car well so you just know when its time to change..

but i guess 7500rpm is a good cut off

I never rev mine at all really. Normal use is reved to about 3k. If I'm razzing it I always try and change before the limiter but it picks up so quickly I tend to pop it off that limiter.
