Default who is cheapest for st8130 stack dash

im gonna bite the bullet and swap over to a stack dash now as i have too many gauges in the car and its getting a little cluttered

im after the s8130 with optional air temp sensor which will display

rev
speed
air temp
water temp
oil temp
fuel temp
fuel pressure
fuel level

phoned a few companies and most said they would phone me back with their best price but none have

best ive been quoted so far is 1k delivered from R&B
(without the optional air temp sensor which is listed as £25)

anybody reccomend componies to compete with that

ALSO HAS ANYONE GOT ANY BAD POINTS AFTER USING A STACK DASH THEMSELVES I SHOULD BEAR IN MIND?

THANKS
MARC

You can't have the air temp sensor and fuel pressure option together, it is either or.

If you drop the fuel pressure option, you can subtract £117.50, and then add air temp.

Has anyone read Marcs first post

He has been quoted a grand already.

My Stack is now 10 years old and I have just recently had it refurbed, only fault with it was the lcd display which isn't bad after 10 years !

Obviously you need to program the fuel level and speed on it which does take a bit of time but besides that it works just fine out of the box.

Being able to contain all your guages into one place is much better as when an alarm goes off the dash will stick a bright LED on and switch to that function automatically rather than you trying monitor a guage fitted completely out of eyesight

that is a good looking unit,

but can you tell me,.......when 1 of the alarms goes off for example OIL TEMP, if you dont have that on the main page does the unit switch over to display that parameter or would you have to manuaely scroll to see what alarm it is

How about importing one from the US?

The 8130 seems to cost around $1450 in the states.

Some prices here

http://www.racerpartswholesale.com/stack4.htm

Speed sensor was extra.

I guess the final price might end up close to R&B offer anyway so its probably just hassle as you say.

Cheers Marc, I'm more than happy with it.

And to answer your question yes it does change to that parameter when the alarm light comes on

At Mikes price for a new one with ALL the sensors I nearly could of got a new one for the cost of the repair and the new sensors I had to get.

What it does show though after 10-11 years is that they are reliable units which cant yet be proven with the AIM or other units.

PI is also worth considering as thats what I've got to go in the nova when I get the rest of the bits together for it. iirc though they are not cheap new

They dont do anything

Already considered this as a cheap option on the nova and they dont even do the things the most basic Stack unit does.

Cheap for what they are but not really any good if your looking for proper monitoring

Who Chris Evans

They are not anything like a Stack unit from what I have seen, 0-8k tacho, 140mph speedo and it monitors a few things.

Its not shit, but its also not a proper Stack dash even if they did make it.

Ofcourse as its a Stack product you might be able to have it altered but in all honesty I would just buy the proper thing.

That doesn't sound anything like the one I pulled out of a Lotus Elise sport 160.

Someone I know had one in his nova and changed for a AIM dash which sort of tells me that the Lotus version didn't monitor that much or he wouldn't of shelled out a grand on the AIM (or whatever they cost)

Yeah i see daves one and it looks nice,

think they all read from the ecu tho and there not compatible with p8,

but they are with omex and autronic which is what christian and dave use,

just gonna go with the ST8130P i think, 1k sounds best im gonna get, but got 1 person getting me a price on manday for it so wait for that last quote

revs
speed
oil temp
oil pressure
fuel pressure
water temp
volts
fuel level

then il keep my secs monitor for the air charge/water injection control etc and just have my AFR wideband as my only stand alone gauge

I c ant believe you have ordered a set of clocks that does so little for so much - Stack are so out of date when it comes to displays, very 80's that pal. Amoled technology is where its at now, multiple user programmable screens and displays for not much more than you have paid.

one dash does all, not loads of extra guages (as you will need to support your stack system)

there is a reason why they call them stack
