been looking at evos for a little while like the evo4 for looks but cant really afford that much evo3 dont look as good any common faults and whats tunabilty like?
i love the look of an evo 3, better than evo 4 imo. You see evo 4's every day, how many evo 3's are about.
p.s
as for reliability i dont think they give you much greif but when something does break its very expensive.

A girl down the road from me had a III, not long after she got it the transfer box went. Once she had a new one though, the car went really well and had no more faults.
The standard Mo's on the III are 15s though, it does need bigger wheels IMO.

True, pretty strong and reliable cars and i wouldn't say alot more exspensive to fix if you go to the right tuners, Evos are VERY good cars only reason i sold my Mak was cus i was like a wussy with it, didn't use it enough, so when i was offered a very good price i sold it, but if i have another some day it'll be an 8 or a 9 gt

Don't matter what the handling is like if the prick driving it can't drive!!
Had a laugh at EMERALD EVO DAY, when huge power was expected and told of by many did not happen!!, but power per pound crap compared with cossie, despite 20 odd years jap technology.

Having had a cossie, which in comparison was lardy and dated, I'll take the Evo with the same power [370bhp] and newer technology anyday thanks!
I like the 3! It has less electronic mumbo jumbo than the later ones.
Fast too! Even as standard they can shift!
I got fucking mullered by one last week. And I mean mullered.......

Thought so....
The RS model, developed primarily as a base vehicle for competition use, was offered with a torque-adaptive helical gear limited slip front differential - a world first on a 4WD model. And on the GSR the rear differential incorporated another world first: Active Yaw Control.
