Whats the idea behind Icky Thump? As much as love guitar music, this track is awfull....sounds like kids messing with instruments

 

The drumming's good though!!!

I've got 2 white stripes album and they've done some really good stuff but i've got to agree, this song is pretty pants!

 

Its grown on me tbh, I do have to listen to radio 1 all day though so its worrying what you start nodding your head too

 

I like it but then i'm into them after really rating most of their previous work although i did think the album before Icky was awful, too slow and soft but this one is back to what they do best. Catch hell blues is the best song on the album for me, especially when coming out of pro logic.

The blackpool lights live dvd is one of the best i've got, awesome sound and really heavy. Not for everyone though.

Personally, i think its a perfect example of radio one's 'in new music we trust' attitude, i understand trying to look for new acts etc. but if it shit its shit, right?

And because its the white stripes and they're an established act, they can basically release any shit they like and people will but it!

i'm a big fan of the elephant album, but the rest that i have heard have been a bit pants. i love the simplicity of the drums and the guitar, but sometimes a tune would not go amiss

 

usually like their stuff but cant get my head round the out of tune style whiney noise on this one

 

i think its brilliant! proper old skool rock!

 

old school rock is the Quo, Def Leopard etc etc.
