Default Daft b*stard bikers!!

Now I don't mean ALL bikers, just the idiot ones!!

Driving home tonight, I get to a fast stretch of the 3 lane private road I use daily, and this bike is coming up behind me. So I think OK well I'm gonna give it some here anyway. Speed up to 110/20 on this stretch, and the coont gets right behind me, he was so close he could have been sat on my back seat!

Normally I'd move over and let the guy go but there were cars not far ahead of me and I knew he'd get no further so why should I move??

He ended up cutting into the middle and weaving away through the lanes.

Why do people put themselves in danger like that?

Lol do you lot not read?

I have no probs with the speeds and said nothing about him for doing the same, I was talking about how close he sat to me, practially on my bumper, which I thought was pretty dangerous for him.

Always always always let bikes past no matter what speed im doing.

Well apart from the guy I raced on a Buell that was flat out at 130

Dogsmoke if you ever get a shot on a real bike, ie 600 + then you'll understand why to just pull over for a second and let them carry on.

Fair dos, thing is, I was going way faster then the next lane of traffic and he was only gonna get held up straight away again if I moved over.

But my point was not this, what I was actually getting at was that he sat so close that it was hugely dangerous for him and if I'd braked he'd have been dead.

I just find it hard to understand why anyone would put themselves in such danger.

No mate, he would have needed the other cars to pull over for him too, and up ahead of the next bunch of cars the traffic bottlenecks around that time of day (half five) so it was gonna be extreme slow down time very soon

I did consider moving as I actually do normally for fast stuff but bearing all the above in mind I just sped up so as to try and not hold him up through that quick section, because as said there were a few cars ahead of me, and ahead of them there was traffic.

I dunno why I'm now having to give a detailed traffic report, nobody else gets ripped apart when they post anything

Aye that looks kinda daft in this context but there was room to go as the other cars all sped up in the outside lane so I went with them

This is something that annoys the SHIT out of me. If something faster is behind you. Doesnt matter if its a Bike a car a Truck or a fucking Otter.

Get out of the FUCKING way. Anyone who feels the need to block others is clearly having to stand too close to the urinal. There is ALWAYS something on the road faster than you. So why get involved. Are you a Policeman or just some do-gooder who doesnt want people to pass them.

Cocks! The lot of them!

Heres a scenario Ive heard.

Guy in his "car" giving it the berries on a Motorway. A faster car comes up behind him but hes a stubbon cunt so sticks in the outside lane. All of a sudden his lights are full of blue lights (unmarked) Policeman bollocked him not for the speed. But because he could of moved to the left but didnt. Incorrect lane or somesuch. Im told that Traffic dont look at speed as much as general lane discipline/drivng standards. i.e Do 85 past a Police car and you "may" be Ok. But do 70 past a Police car weaving in and out of traffic and obviously you're getting pulled. Even worse if your clearly blocking other cars.

There is a difference between blocking someone, and being in a line of traffic - even if it's moving quite quick, and even if there is a bit of a gap in front of you.

If I come up behind someone, and I can see there isn't loads of empty road in front of him, then I'm happy to wait behind. Why should he move over? He may well want to go quicker, but knows there is no point nailing it for the 100yds up to the traffic in front.

The reason the biker was on your arse is because some think they are invincible and have cow shit for brains some of them, loads round here anyway.
If a biker did this to me, sat up me behind, and I had to brake hard I would fuck em, they want to get killed let them, I have often pondered this very thing as what to do knowing the biker is going to get hurt, if something happens on the road and I need to brake heavy, but you cannot be responsible for thier actions and the danger they expose themslves to.
I would still sleep at night as well.
I move over for any biker that is at a reasonable distance behind obviously wanting to overtake, and I help by indicating a fewe flashes just so they know they normally say thanks.
Unfortunately there are a lot of idiot bikers, as there are car drivers, I think generally they are going so much faster that they stand out more as a problem

lmao at detailed traffic report

thats how bikes move, thats how bikes get places quicker....its the norm...until they hit something...which generally is the norm too

I'm not saying I was deffo right to stay where I was or anything but in the conditions I felt I was. Can totally understand him wanting to go quicker as I get that myself in the car, it just shocked me how close he was willing to sit

In traffic going slow I always look for bikes in my mirrors and pull to the side to give them as much room to pass through as poss, so please don;t think I'm anti bikes!

Really fucks me off though when they don;t give you a wave to thank you for the courtesy

Aye mate, if for instance an animal had run out I'd have braked hard instantly without even thinking about it as it's my natural reaction and the guy would have been toast.

Normally when a biker comes up behind me in the fast lane on the motorway i move over to the right a little and they dive up the inside, seems alot of other people do it too, kinda like an unwritten rule.

What gets on my goat is those people who dive up the middle lane to get past the line of cars in front, then cut back into the fast lane when they meet a slower car, only gaining about 2 places (and cutting their journey time by about 2 seconds ) but having to drive like a maniac to do it

Where did I say I was on the motorway? I stated it was a private road

Bit harsh that tho mate. I wish I could be as good as you and ever get that urge to put my foot down on a fast stretch of road

As a rule I slow down if I see Volvos

jay, you seen my other post?

the only time i get pissed off on the bike is on the motorway when cars have a big gap they can nip in, but as they are accelerating flat out they dont seam to realise that all the biker needs is about 2 seconds and they are past

as for single carrageways, i respect that the cars in front are travveling at whatever pace they can, so only pass when its clear to do so.

stationry trafic i will pass... well, i did till last friday when some woman turned right at a no right turn junction and took me out

cars for me from now on... bit of a waste of Ł600 for the tests etc, but fuck it, i value my life more.

ive seen first hand how easy it is to die, it doesnt take much on a bike for some serious injurys. luckily i came off very ok compared to what i could have!

as for your case, im sure if he wanted to pass, he would have! all bikers get the odd ghostrider syndrome every now and again - i know i did!

I just move over if something is going quicker than me.. Because
you jusy know they are going to take a risk to get past.

Safer option IMO

But it does annoy me when people get really close to you as if trying

OK, I'm in my car, in front, and you are going to drive into the back of me.

You can either have this nice shiney dick of a 2-wheeled effort, or this big 'ol 7 series BMW.

Which would you like to use?

That's the difference
