Missus is thinking of selling her 1.4 focus and buying a '05 156 1.9JTD. Any advice??

 

My brother has a GTA... very nice car, fast as fook... however unreliable and would be costing him a packet if it wasnt under warranty.

 

Dont do it, Alfa engines are shit

 

Heard the petrol engines were shite alright but the newer diesels were ok...

 

It's spelt 'Alfa' and they are awesome cars imo (Coming from an alfa enthusiast (spl?) though)

 

My mate had a 148. i told him not to buy it. Had bad electrical issues. used to shut its self off when it felt like it. not very good when your doing 70mph and the engine and all the electrics go off. Car was only about3-4 years old and even Alfa could'nt find what was wrong with it.

 

Im a car trader... they are scrap. Do not do it. Simple.

 

The few ive worked on were shite...

They mainly all had electrical problems and the build quality was terrible...

 

Italian and french car electrics suck big time.
JTD lump is best bit about it, would never have one though.

i had an 04 plate 156 2.0 jts, bought it with 12k miles on it sold it after 2 years with 44k miles on it, was a beautiful car had no reliability issues at all, servicing costs were quite high but it was on a par with my merc, fast, comfortable and loads of character
