I might be wrong, but I don't think you can get true 1080p (Progressive) with a TV under 37"??
I don't understand it fully, but it's to do with the way the lines are made up on the screen. 1080p is the best resolution currently available and Progressive is better than Interlaced.
I'm sure someone else can explain more accurately!!

1080i is interlaced, which means the picture is made up of 2 scans, 1 consisting of the odd number of lines in the image (lines 1,3,5,7 etc) and the second made up of the even number of lines. (2,4,6,8 etc)
This creates a complete image but in 2 scans.
Progressive displays all the lines in the image at once.
1080P is the best resolution currently on the market

So can the Xbox360 run 1080p with the std (premium pack) normal/hd cables
Is there much difference between 1080i and 1080p?
And at what point do you need to get a HDMI cable for them, also how much are they wand where from, microsoft?

the other way to explain it is that on some telly's the refresh only moves the pixels that have changed and doens't move the ones that haven't while on the better telly's all the pixels are refreshed every time
and no, the xbox360 can't run 1080p
and no you can't get a hdmi cable for them either
you have to use component cables

dont think the xbox can run in 1080, may be wrong.
Also as has been said i dont think they do 1080P in anything smaller than a 40¨
Plus u wont see the benefits at that small.
720P will look awesome on 32¨

But watching standard broadcasts (freeview, normal sky etc) on an LCD is fucking horrible, they look really grainy and fuzzy, and both occasions i've seen it they have been on decent LCD's (panny viera 32", and a sony bravia)
I'd still have one though if i could justify paying for a new telly, when i already have a great CRT
My xbox is running in 1080 mode through a Sony 1080 tv, as Ryan mentioned apparently they don't support that setting but it does change the tv settings when you alter them on the xbox.
The picture is incredible, noticably different from the 480 and 720 settings.

..............except for the fact its a 720p game :007:
Very few game will be rendering at a native 1920x1080, if they are then there not going to be doing much. If any game is going to render at 1080 on the ps3 then it will be doing 960x1080 this is to get around the fact that the ps3's internal scaler is a pile of rubbish that can't scale 720 to 1080i properly. On both consoles your better of just setting the output to 720p.
Dojj, as to the ps3 shaming the xbox when it comes to high end graphics
just stick with your 360 unless you fancy a cheap blu ray player.
