I have been thinking about this for a while

I love the 3 door track cars and always want another.
No matter what track car i have i always get the urge for another 3 door .

I was looking at my balck 500 and thought i might just sell my escoss rally car and have a top notch fully welded in cage and track it

That way i have the best of both worlds ,,a great looking track car that goes and looks well and still get to keep 2 RS500 "s

Nooooo !! It's a 500, don't wreck it by tracking it !!! Get a 3dr breaker and cage that !!!!

i have heard they are ok ish as a track car


if you have 2 then you could one for track and one for best

 

it will be a waste.

get a 3 door shell and go from there,cage decent engine etc.....

use all fibre glass bits too just incase.

I Have 2 RS5OO"s and cant use both , i have an escoss rally car that i can sell and put some cash back into the bank and use the balck 500 as a raod legal track car ,, it will be built propper with a big speck weld in cage through the bulkhead etc , not no cheap built shitter

So i have the best of both worlds , and im sure the track spec 500 will still look cool and people will love it if they see it finished , all painted inside as nice as the outside

 

you'll be better off starting from scratch and doing it to a 3dr

 

please yourself, there's something appealing at poking one in the eye of the purest's as well imho
At the end of the day its your car and you should use it in the manner which you get most enjoyment.

At the end of the day its not a practical everyday car, so you have to ask why did you buy it... hopefully it was to enjoy, go with what makes you smile

you have seen how much a genuine rs500 race car would cost to buy (martins cars).just sell the escort,and build the rs500 to the spec you want.i think andys rs500 is a great track car-no-one turns their nose up at his do they?

you still have the white one to enjoy as a standard car.

just dont use those shiny split rims on track.

if you want an rs500 track car you wont be happy until you have one regardless of what you buy in the meantime.its your car to do whatever you want with.
just go in today and stripping that interior out

If i had the cash i wouldnt think twice about buying a nice 500 and turning it into a track weapon

 

Its a sub 20K ford sierra that you no doubt lots of spares for, and from what I gather you are a reasonabley well off sort of guy.

I cant think of any reason not to track it, it is what they were designed for after all!
