All depends on the diff ratio and gear ratio in the box Steve

But I would hazard a guess on approx 7200 to 7500 on a 2wd Cossie with standard diff and box ratios

And potentially lose if racing or being timed to 100 for whatever reason.

2wd with standard diff and those tyres requires 7000rpm to see 100mph.

I had my rev limit set at 7200 - and that was on a nearly standard engine too

Don't think so, as the standard rev limit is 6800, which is why you see so many Cossies hit 157mph - as this is flat out with 17" wheels on the limiter .

This is why Dumped was so pissed when he went all the way to Brunters with his 400bhp car PLUS silly amounts of Nitros, but could only hit 157mph like all the other stage III cars there that day .

Just trying to work out my 0-100mph time

I know the car does 0-90mph in 8.6sec (Santa Pod 1/8th time)

Was hoping its good for a 10sec 0-100mph time.

The car has 371bhp and 351lb/ft

Steve.

Some time back a rwd Saff with 400/400 was timed 0-100 in 10.2secs in a mag shoot.

you should can work out the torque generated at the output of the gearbox in each gear right through the rev range. you need a print out of the engines torque curve.

please correct me if I'm wrong but its normally an advantage to hold each gear as long as possible. (N.A. cars)
so change gear when the output torque in the next gear is greater than the output torque in the current gear.

example.
in 1st you might have output torque at 3000 rpm of 1500Nm.
in 5th at the same rpm maybe 500Nm.

I hope that sounds ok.
