im going to be putting an rs2000 engine out a mk5 into my mk6 escort gti can anybody tell me whats involved in this, especially the wiring, what parts need swapping etc, i have both cars complete, cheers jamie

 

its a straight forward swap mate. you will need the engine the box is the same as the gti. you will need to swap the ecu and engine loom for the ones off the rs2000 . you will also need the inlet and exhaust manifolds from the rs2000 as the ports on the i4 head are a different shape to the zetec head. hope this helps you out abit

 

May aswell sell the gti and buy a rs2k, i mean the rs2k comes with uprated suspension, you also have recaros and rear disks (although all these are easy to do), to pay someone to do this is always gonna cost near on 2k, although if you do it yourself it can be worth while!

 

Bullshit im in the same dilema myself cant make my mind up whether to go turbo or rs2k into my gti, I know a garage who will swap everything over for 200 quid so i dont know where ya got 2k from???

Oh and yes its easier to go buy an rs2k but this guy may need a 5 door like me
