I am about to reformat my Hard-Drive at reinstall Windows. It's a Hewlett Packard machine that didn't come with the discs, but apparently you make a recovery disc or something??!!
Anyway, it's not that I am worried about.
We have it set at the moment with 2 user accounts. The main one that Beccy and I use and an additional one for Rosie. However, it takes forever to switch between the 2. It doesn't really seem to like being set-up this way. It might be that once I reinstall, that this may improve. However, I guess that Windows XP Pro is better equipped for User accounts?
If so, whats the cheapest/easiest way to upgrade from Home to Pro and in a way that I am not stuck for updates??!!

Pro is only really better for networking. Im sure home edition is fine for what you want.
The hard drive is probably partioned and you will have some kind of recovery/setup files on the other partion.

So is anyone else using XP Home with multiple user accounts successfully? When I switch users it sometimes takes several minutes to do it!!
As I said before, this might be because the hard-drive is in a bit of a mess. I now have 700gb of storage, so plan to set up a 50gb partition on the main 200gb drive for Windows and the programs etc and try and store all the data etc on the separate 500gb drive. Hopefully this will keep things ticking along nicely.

From the 2nd link you gave...
Discount-licensing.com says its business model is compliant with Microsoft’s own transfer terms and conditions. It excludes operating system licences, such as those of Windows XP, because of transfer restrictions in these licences
