IIRC with the old engine spec running it was only a few tenths slower on treaded tyres so I'd guess it would still be in the 10's on treads now

If i had that kind on cash to spend on a car i would certainly choose an RS500 over this and still have enough left over for some fairly serious mods on it !!

Guy must be gutted having to sell this though as must have taken ages to get it to its present condition, looks fooking lovely in that colour too

a serious bit of kit and yeah it maybe over the top but someone WILL pay that for it once they go out in it

 

To spec a car up like that and have such a clean mk2 shell along with it, you would be looking at loads more money to build one.

If i had the money i woudl jump at the chance to buy it.

Best thing of all this car is used for what it was built for racing....

Not knocking peoples opinions, but you CANNOT build a car to that spec for the money it's for sale for. Yes you could buy an RS500 and mod it for that money, but have the people saying that ever actually DRIVEN a Cossie converted Escort?

I doubt it. I've driven every Cosworth model going, with anything up to 520bhp... and nothing compares to the buzz, driving sensation, sensation of speed and character that even my lowly stage 3 Cossie'd Mk2 Escort gave me. So not only is Kevs Escort more fun (IMO), but it's quicker than any RS500 I've ever heard of.

I've looked round this car many times and it is immaculate, hard to believe it has even been used in all the years since it was painted.

Credit to Kev for keeping it in such good condition and hopefully that will work out good for him when he finds a genuine buyer
