as above how do i do it as i cant seem to find my laptop

You mean that your phone wasnt showing your laptop as a found device when you tried searching?

by default the xp poo-tooth stack isnt set to discoverable, right click your bluetooth icon and go into setup or options or whatever. cant remember the exact route as my laptop is downstairs
