i have been sent this email can anyone confirm if there is any truth in the fact the sea front is going to be pedestrianised?

also does any one know who is ripping off our ideas?

SAFFEND SEAFRONT
Blimey, it’s all goin’ on darn saffend way…cockles and muscles, gaw blimey guvna n all dat malarky! Just who IS running this gig – first we KNOW it’s Ashley coz we get a dodgy print-out handed to us in the pub, then I read the Southend Standard the next day with an article sayin’ Phil (nice pic Phil) from SIDC as it reads…local car club chairman Phil is working with the police to organise the monthly event. From what we know it's all down to Ashley - he's been speakin' about it for donkeys. He already told us there’s a ton of things planned that night what with the seafront being closed off and marshalled. It’s for sure happnin’ and my other source tells me that soon the main drag’s gonna be for pedestrians, the gates are coming back and it’s resident card systems all the way! So no more saffend seafront cruises other than marshalled ones. The first one kicks-off in November, we’ll be down there and we’ll send a report.

Cars and cruising along the seafronts been happening for years. Rachels mum was telling us how she used to go there on bikes when she was a lass. Yet another blow to the motorist that will cost thousands and achive nothing!!!!! When people cruise there they spend money if they can't cruise they will go elsewhere and so will their cash.

I know Phil from SIDC I can tell we have been going down the sea front for years and they will never be able to arrange or police anything down there.
I had a meeting with the Essex police commandering cheif geezer a few months ago, who told me he enjoys going down there, especially on P. Ford nights, in his Mustang, with his kids.
The only increasesed policing was due to the residents, and council, who are trying to stop the saxo boys pouring deisel on the road and doing burnouts.
The rossers actually asked me to do a cruise safley flyer for them in conjunction with my shop to hand out to the revellers .
I politely told them I was not really the right ambassedor for the cruise police
Anyway if it is true, I have thought of a better location than the seafront one I originally thought of

i can see a lot of ppl other than the cruisers having objections with a fully pedestrianised zone down there, the casino, shops etc. and its a main route as well

 

cant be true there has been nothing in local papers

Bridge in Maidstone got closed down due to an overwhelming amount of people going down there Friday's and Saturday nights, some nights possibly a match for sounthend, all down to residents complaining, despite it's been going on for years, if they fight strong enough, it could happen

 

like i said it's come from a source thats been less than believable before!!

 

i ain't been yet. best get my arse down there then if its gonna end.

jesus christ, its only cus some stupid minority that wants to do this crap that ruins it for all of us, I mean what do we get up to at our meets, park up, coffee and have a chat and a laugh and get to know people.

Every single person I have met through either Fordsport or Passion Ford are quality. Kind considerate people that will fall over themslelves to help you out.

Like Thrush, who at the drop of a hat came over to mine when I wasn't sure about somthing.

then you get the Saxo, Corsa, Nova Chav crew who want to show off screwing it up makes me mad.

Where else can we go thou thats as easy to get to and have all the facilaties we need (like coffee, pub (for those who are drinking not driving duh) and food) in the immediate area?

 

If we have it at a leisure park or anything similar we'll get grief for it being a cruise rather than a meet.

Do we know what the crack is yet with this rumour?
