Ok guys been having a few problems with the Fezza of late, sometimes it won't spark all day and won't start some times it starts but runs a bit crap and yesterday it wouldn't rev over 2k as soon as it hit 2k it would backfire like hell and the revomiter would fly all over the place or sit on 0

when it was not going over 2k it seemed like the sparking problem again since you could power up to 2k ok and the car would still pull fine on full throttle just stop at 2k

I've tried another coil
Tried a new CPS
Tried another EDIS even thow it was of a 1.3HCS

once it messed up the injectors aswell since it was only running of 2 cylinders but all plugs were firing ok,

I've tried it with the chip out and its still the same.

Have you guys got any ideas i was gonna try the ECU next even thow it doesn't seem to apear to go into limp mode since it prims the pump ok etc.

Sounds like a crank sensor or wiring to the sensor problem

 

Um i thought it could be the Crank Sensor but i've tried a new one and still the same, um i've put a new connecter on the wiring goint to the Crank sensor and the wiring seems okish i've tried fiddiling with the connecter going to the edis and the one behind the edis and sensor plate, um put a new multi plug on the wiring going to the coil, tired fiding with the connector feeding the injector circuits. kinda running out of ideas

Its idles perfect and has been really intermitent with not starting (not sparking atall) for some time now i've even tired towing it at 30mph trying to bump it in 2nd gear and it won't start, seems really random the timmings deff out at the mo aswell since its making tapping noises from the followers not all the time but you can just tell its not spot on etc, and theres nothing wrong with the followers

surely your first port of call would be to get the timing sorted??

 

wen mine did this it cooked ma coil pack and was only sparking on 2 and 4!!!!!!! just replaced the coil pack and was fine try anotha coil pack from a 1600 cvh see how that works (make sure the coil pack is fine first) ! if not then ecu!!

 

yeah already tried another coil pack that i know is working fine, um the car idles perfect just when getting to 2k, um the timing is to do with the ecu its controlled by that.
