Default Skyline R32 GTR or R33 GTR?

whats the main differences between the 2 if any?

if there are big differences then which one would be best to modify?

are these also switchable between 4wd and 2wd as i've been told gtr sky's run this

r32 is easy to make rwd only ,

r33 you need custom computer for it,

32 is lighter

main differences is they totally different bodyshell.

engine and transmission is to all intents and purposes the same.

as is suspension and brakes, tho 33 brakes are a little better.

r32 ecu is live mappable by stu, so dont need fancy aftermarket ECU.

r32 is a good 100kg lighter.

r32 can be made 100% RWD with a simple fuse removal.

r32s and r33s can have a variable torque split controllers fitted to alter the power bias between front and rear, only cost about 150quid and makes it easy to alter handling to how you like it, doesnt make it 100% RWD tho.

thanks mate

as far as handling goes can i assume they can be made to handle almost indenticaly with the R32 may be with the slight edge because of the weight difference

zippyobrien

thanks

going on looks R32 gtr does it for me too but once in a while you come across a really nice looking r33 gtr and i think its down to the wheels suiting it and the stance of the car.

they seem to go for near enough the same depending on mods tho so cant make my mind up .

i do really want one as they are 6 cyls and i fancy a change from 4 and they have an imposing road presence

yes, handling wise the 32 has it, but purely as they a lot lighter, they both handle good, but 32s feel and drive more like a cossie in size, 33s feel a bit bigger, as they are, tho TBH dont feel huge, i never feel im driving a really big car when driving em.

get a 32, and just make sure you get the right size and offset rims and your laughing, be crazy to buy a 33 just as it looks right as the previous owner picked the right size n offset rims, easy to do.

nice

apart from feeling the difference in size, would you say they both feel the same to drive?

i dont know much about sky's and hopefuly will take someone who does know when i go see some n i wont make my desision on wheel choice but you cant help click on the ads just by looking at the pic rather than reading the description . But i think its going to have to be a 32.

thanx for the advice.

33s feel heavier, thats all really, 32s jus feel more alive and nimble.

both got a similar setup so are great handling cars on the track, just 32s feela bit more chuckable and nimble.

hard to explain, you know like some cars, even then they same size, feels smaller than others? its like that.

same as pulsars, feel really small, and JZX81 chasers like I got, they feel tiny when you sit in them, even tho they big 4door cars.

Stavros

i know what you mean about the car feeling very big when its not and the pulsar i onced owned feeling very small, quite a vurnerable feeling when driving in one but it was a fun car. Also felt that in my calibra run around, it feels massive and its down to the way the steering behaves on that peace of shit, makes it feel extra heavy.

but thanx for your info, great help gona start looking for a 32 but if the right 33 does come along i might have to take that instead

I don't know how my reply went on here should of been on the other thread I started

How much was yours back then Martin ? I'm just pricing up the car in the sum of its parts been looking on nengun

Edit it's been awhile but I've just remembered about rhd Japan for best prices, they are still Ł10500 for os88 box plus all associated costs of getting it home
