Well get ready to eat your shorts because although theres people playing pool there, there isnt any guarantee that any of the players are his friends

Used to play regularly few years ago and played in a team and won quite a few competitions

The more expensive cue's are not guaranteed to be better than the cheapo one's as i tried out quite a few different one's and really struggled to find one i was comfortable playing with until i got a shot of a mates one and played probably the best pool i have ever played !!!!
Turns out he bought it from Argos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Went straight out and bought one and only cost 22 quid and love it

Dont get the chance to play these days as almost every pub you go into doesn't have a table and there are no clubs around here for fooking miles

cocofireblade as i said havent had chance to play a full sized table for years, just a mates half sized one with a shit cloth, so you cant get any action on the ball, its just hit and hope it goes in kinda thing but they all said im good and i beat my mates most the time

Anyway yeah i take back what i said about Argos, they do actually have some decent Riley o'sullivan/steve davies/paul hunter endorsed jobbies, they start from like £20 ish so something like that would be ok wouldnt it? which one do/did you have if you remember

I cant honestly remember the name etc of the cue i bought as it was that long ago !! I just know its a Riley and was oner of the cheaper one's !!

What size table are you hoping to be playing on?

I used to prefer the 7ft tables over the larger types and 8 ball was the game for me, seems everyone these days is into playing 9 ball. Its alright but would far rather play a good old fasioned game of 8 ball !! So much harder to control the cue ball on the bigger 9 ball tables as the balls are so much larger in size.

No worries ill just get a Riley one for about £20-25, should be ok as even the pro snooker players use Riley

Im not sure about the table size/style actually, but what i used to play was the normal pub sized table if that helps? and it used to be stripe/spot balls.
Think it was 8ball

How did you come to that conclusion? the spot/striped balls? if so then ive played games with red/yellow balls aswell, so that was 9ball maybe?

You can only play 8ball with red/yellow balls .

9ball is obviously balls numbered 1-9 and you have to pot / hit them in order ie pot the 1 ball then the 2 etc etc etc .

I play 9ball quite a bit , takes more ball control imo as your limited to only one ball for your next shot and even then if you havent got a pot on you dont want to leave it open for the opponent .

What sucks about 9ball though is ......... you can pot 1 through 8 but if you miss the 9 and your oppo sinks it all that hard works gone bye bye

Also sucks when you get fucked by Golden Breaks and combo shots but it is a much better and quicker paced game than 8ball

got a pub table at home, and you will possibly surprised to learn that there are 2 different sizes of 6 foot tables
i've got the smaller one but i've also got the smaller pockets
as for cues, you can use the fat tipped one for the break (this shuld have plenty of weght to it at the bottom end) and s amller tipped one for the actual shots
so look for a combination of cues

also, the ones that split down the middle tend to be mroe prone to getting bent than the ones that slipt about 2/3rds of the way down

yeah i knew there was 2 different sizes as down my local pool club they have 4 pool tables and then a slightly bigger red clothed table at the end also if you go through a door they have a huge room with about 6 snooker tables in

I just picked up this

BCE ashwood jobbie was going to get a cheap one but then realised it looked wank and would get mistaken for one of the crap cues they supply if you dont have your own
This one has the nice wood and Budweiser logo on the butt

EDIT fooking hell i need a new carpet

Also had abit of a moment wondering which colored caulk to get, blue or green? i heard on the tv when the snooker was on that green is what all the pro's use as it doesnt stick to the balls like the blue does got some green anyhow

i have a knock about now and again. i have a riley 3 piece cue i had off a mate cos he owed me some money. i havent played snooker in about 6 years though i have a boggo 'american pool' cue too, its nice though and is nice and worn in now. i can usually stay on the table for most of the night, but i dont pay for money. just the cost of the game, i'm not into that. you always get some cunt who thinks he's been cheated/dont pay/ wants to upp the bet when you beat him
