Default need detailed advice

in have a 1.6 escort and im considering the 2.0 silver top conversion, not farmiliar with all this so 1st of all what brake improvemtns should i do? wil it need rear disks or will drilled n grooved disks with green stuff pads be enough? suspension will be sorted with coilovers if possible so thats not a worry. the main thought is the wireing loom and the enigine mounts what has to be changed and where? need fairly detailed advice on this one any help would be greatley appreciated.

first of all engine wise you the two litre will pop straight in without the worrie of wiring loom etc.... unless you putting on throttle bodies.
if your just going sensable with mods then grooved discs and uprated pads wuld be fine. you already have suspenson so no advice needed there. hope this helps

as long as your mounts are in good condition you can reuse them, the hardest bit will be rewiring it to run on a 2.0 ecu,

pop over to ford-force.com for a guide. standard suspension will be up to the job if in good nick, coilovers are unessecary for a road car. as for the brakes the standard tiny single piston calipers and CD sized 240mm front brakes are appauling my daily drive is fitted with a 136PS 2.0 on standard brakes and it is scary how long they take to haul up from 120+

i'd reccomend 4wd cosworth front brake calipers and discs or mondeo mk3/st170 calipers with focus ST170 discs for a budget upgrade.
for guides to the above visit ford-force.com

i agree with the original brakes there crap!
will the disks just pop straight on or am i looking at new hubs? think im leaning towards the cossie set up and i want rear disks too, this easy enough to do or is it not worth the hassle? will be sporting green stuff pads and grooved disks. anything else i should add to my shopping list then? poly bush kit? struts or will the escort be pretty sound with the brakes & suspension

the full escort cosworth setup will bolt on.. EBC pads / discs are shite
just need some washers and slightly longer bolt to space the claiper correctly.
for rear discs fit a complete rear beam from and RS2000/XR3i 130

polybushes will help but not entreily neccessary a good brand of fixed uprated susp[ension would be a good idea - e.g. koni bilstein etc
