a friend had them on his black RST for no more than 2 hours before getting pulled and slapped with a Ł30 fine

But I had italic style plates on my focus for about 2 years before i got pulled!!!

Just luck of the draw i suppose

I had these on my car for about 4 months, no probs at all, had police following me loadsa times and they never bothered with me at all.

Then i got pulled 3 times in 3 days (eachtime for the number plates alone, not dodgy driving or n e thing) so i decided to call it a day, got standard ones back on now

Loads of illegal plates around here including those you mention, but I got pulled and all he could find was my rear number plates digits were 2mm too narrow!!
Yes he actually had a 6" steel rule in his pocket notebook, bike cop, still have not changed them though, loads of the usual illegal spacings etc, and a few black white.

In theory your car has to be old enough to have had them when new. I think that is pre-1970ish. The Police, DVLA etc are so anal people have problems when fitting them to 1930s vehicles!!

shouldnt have passed but they guy knew id put them straight back on after the test so he was cool about it, at the end of the day the spacing and the font are legal so i cant see the problem

if you get them done on the net its no bother but kwick fit etc wont do it as the car needs to be born before 1974 as there name needs to go on the bottom heres mine
