Default Focus RS v's Focus ST

Im looking for a new car to use everyday and have been looking at the focus RS and the Focus ST. Im really not sure which of the two i prefer.

What do you think of them and which do you prefer and why?

Better still, has anyone owned or driven both and give give an fair comparison?

Any good/bad points worth mentioning?

Cheers.

for an everday car it would be the ST. I have the standard MK2 focus and that sticks to the road as it is so I can imagine how good the ST is. ST would be alot more comfy for everyday use altough the RS would be a little more fun.

Driven both and own an RS and to me it is a little more raw. Both are very capable cars but I know which I would rather round a track. But seen as that is not what your after maybe edge towards the ST. I however don't give a fuck about a slightly rougher ride. St s are common

They're both brilliant cars in their own different ways. Each has their perks..

I had an ST and my girlfriend used it every day for her work, no problems and couldn't fault it. My mate has an RS and when I got a shot I was seriously impressed with it so I'd suggest you test drive both..

Personally...I'd go for the RS.

I had a look at a Focus ST, and to be honest if I hadn't gone for my RS, I'd have gone for an Astra VXR. In my opinion the ST looks boring & ugly when compared to any other modern day hot hatch, I HATE the wheels with a passion and to top it off it hasn't even got a Ford lump in it. In it's defence the interior was quite nice.

I'd say go and drive both and see what you think. To me, the RS is by far the more driver-focused (excuse the pun) and you get a lot of kit for your money, plus they'll depreciate far, far slower than any ST

Cheers for the comments.

Think im swaying towards the RS at the moment to be honest. Depreciation being one of the reasons along with the fact there a bit less common.

Highly recomend the ST as an all round car and its very tunable and less
stressed engine for the same power ownput as its a 2.5 litre.
I am getting 26 MPG and I dont drive it like a girl either.

Never driven the RS so cant comment.

i agree the engines are easier to tune on the st, but i did here the drive shafts give up after 280bhp? not sure if this is true, but the OP may not plan on modding it anyway. Just interested
