Default If you had to choose, Toyo T1-R or Goodyear Eagle F1?

Which tyre would you have and why?

Also if you've got a preference tell me what it is and why you like them over the above two

I'm looking at 215/35/18 or 225/35/18, had some good prices and have found a cheap site online which is cool, but i'm undecided on which one to go for?

Avon ZZ3's are another one i've enquired about and seem a good price...?

Cheers

Have got both F1s and T1Rs on 2 sets of wheels for my car. Much prefer the F1s. TIRs tend to squeal a lot when they are warm.

Don't worry, when i've got a car worthy of track action i'll join you! You can always take me out in the meantime!

For now i'll just drive like a coont on the road!

What do you expect it was sopping wet and im coming hard on boost at 4K, sideways moments whatever tyre. .

Most tyres will lose traction with standing water and a T34 punching about 22psi at 4K

I had some F1's and was very happy with the performance but the edges wear badly as theres not a great deal of tread round the edge. The edges became illegal whilst the centres still had plenty left. I was warned about it by the tyre place before though, but still went for them.

And yes the geometry and tyre pressures were always spot on.

F1 GSD3 best in wet, no way at all.
Yes they are good but NO WAY are they the BEST.
I have used F1 GSD3, even goodyear make or used to make a better wet tyre, the EAGLE VENTURA, it laughed at standing water.
I have yet to buy a F1 GSD3 that does NOT develope a SIDEWALL BULGE, for no reason at all.
I found them to be hard wearing, very good in the dry, good in the wet, but use UNIROAL RAINSPORT 1, just as good in dry 500% better in the wet, but don't last as long.
GOODYEAR SUPERCUP is awsome in the dry but will kill you in the wet, might be worth considering as a lot don;t let their cars get wet anyway(?).
On my other car I have TOYO T1R's, which are about 70% as good as uni's in the wet, but better in the dry, I would have T1R over F1 anyday.

Out of interest, what car were they on mate? They do two different types, one with a strengthened tyre wall for certain types of vehicle. I needed the strenthened type for my Lexus and i know some other lexus owners didnt have them and many developed the sidewall bulges.

Totally disagree

Had them on the back of the Saff, just accelerating down dual carraigeway I could feel the back of the car just sliding/drifting out of line slowly and the whole car felt VERY nervous and I did not even want to drive it.

Put them on the front after that, and as you mentioned, thank fuck they didn't last long either

www.mytyres.co.uk or http://ssl.delti.com/mytires/start.html

The Goodyears are only £10 more in 18 inch size mate over the Toyo, make the effort with tyres hence why i'm asking now

Thanks for all the replies!

I have ran a T1-S in the past on 18 inch rims, was fantastic in the wet, fairly soft compound but in the wet the car was an understeering peice of crap! This is what I DONT want with the Saph!
