Coilovers: harsh for road use? Can you adjust them?
Thinking about fitting coilovers as an easy way out of my tyre/spring platform clearance issues.
Has Konis fitted at present, which I think are about right - can coilovers be easily adjusted like Konis?
Are different brands more/less suitable for road use?

^^^ lol I must have had the other half to your set up fitted to my 3dr before I went AVO all round then.....had Bilstein coilovers on the front and Konis on the rear (it was originaly Billies on the rear also but they were rose jointed and a tad too harsh for our shite roads in derbyshire
).

what's too harsh, the springing or the damping?
damping is usually adjustable in some way, although not necessarily in both bump and rebound, and not necessarily by much
springs are only £15 each and can be changed easily

I've found the GAZ coilovers £480 good, not too harsh for the road (on the softest setting).
But as mentioned above softer springs are cheap and readily available in a multitude of strengths from places like Rally Design.

yes and no.
yes in that the rear suspension design is similar and no in that 4x4 does not need to put as much power through the rear wheels anyway
not sure if a 4x4 squats at the rear on launching as much as 2wd, i've never had one
