electric window

Default electric window

Anyone else had this prob, drivers side electric window getting slower and slower not it cant move on its own, looked on ebay for 2nd hand part but none on just now is there any other way round it? i tried vaseline on the mechanism but thats just speeded up its demise lol

Check the mouldings on the doors to make sure they're not pressing into the glass to much.

Also check the wiring and connections to make sure they're clean/not rusted through.

Failing that, the motor might just be tired and showing it's age

MY old xr2i had that problem mine was a motor IIRC.
my windows and mirrors don't work on my rs1800 so if its fine this weekend i've got to try and sort this out,are the relays at the back of the fuse box and how do you tell if they are fooked ?

u cant really tell if relays are gone unless they ar burned on the inside but opening them up risky u damaging something unless ur very careful, I bought a brand new electric window 74 quid!! and the thing still stops half way up fast as lighting on the way down but no good on the way up grrrr
