Doubt you'll get a Cup for Ł4-5k. Good fun though my mate prefered to drive the Cup he got for his missus rather than his own tweeked Impreza WRX

Even though I love the S1 and the FRST I would recommend the 172 as it's a far more modern car and a lot of car for the money.

you could get a nice golf mk4 GTI for that money

the clio 172's are nice, 306 gti-6's also can be had for peanuts now

i would try a 200sx s14 shape, but enquire about insurance as it has rocketed for these in the last few years

Get the 1.8T engined car and you'll start with 150bhp which is no ball of fire still but is a piece of piss to hike to 180bhp as per my A4 which makes the car nice and usable

clio probably looks like the best option... insurance is a killer for me... so i cant be going crazy on power, a nice 150-200 bhp would be nice! or an easily tunable engined car! not too fussed about MPG but about 30 is my aim i recon! or is that too adventerous?

Focus Turbo Diesel can be chipped to 140 which isn't bad, reliable and better on fuel than an RST

Without a shadow of a doubt get the 172.

Dont buy the 172cup- insurance is more expensive (Greenlight wont insure you on one..) and the difference in performance for most drivers is next to none exsistant.

For an everyday driver with relativly hassle free motoring pick the new car.

Jake

(ps did I mention I just brought myself a 182!!!)
