Default ST24 - Cambelt Change??

My mate has bought an ST24 and is going to get the camblet checked as a precaution, and get it done if needs be. How much is he looking at for the work say if he goes to main dealer, and also independent etc

Cheers in advance
Dave

I'd say 100% that the cambelt would be 100% spot on with no problems at all

The precation u need to check tho is the waterpump as the original one has a plastic impellor that breaks and once you realise it its too late and its roasted bigtime

upgrade with a metel impellor pump and its fine , think u can get em for around the £45 iirc when i had my st24

Just the usual Mondeo faults really mate, wishbone bushes, broken coil springs, check the brakes pipes at rear of the car especially where they run up alongside the fuel tank as they all rot there !!!!

There was trouble with the chain tensioners resulting in failures as the oil pressure keeps then in tension, quite sure but not 100%.
