hey all
looking for a career change and been wondering about going to work off shore on oil rigs, so just wondering if anyone on here does it,
what i#d like to know really is where do you enquire about vacancies and is there any specific training courses/quailfications needed.
cheers

I work on ships.
But there's alot of lads on the rigs on here. You do need some industry specific qualifications, which costs a bit..
There are a few compaines that'll give you a help getting them, in return for you working for them when you're qualified.

I'm on ships. If you have any qualifications in an engineering direction you should be able to get a job with us, we always need people. They hired me as an engineer and I'm a marine biologist who has couple of cars in bits.
Pretty good life, but I don't think the money is as good as a highly qualified rigger.
here you go
