Best thing I find is to put vaseline up each nostril, this catches the pollen spores and stops you inhaling them.

The docs will only give you Zirtec and Beclometasone nasal spray which do sweet FA. Prescription drugs are no different to over the counter ones as far as hayfever is concerned. I have tried them all and the only alleviation that helps is the vaseline up each nostril. It's not failsafe, but does help.

I get slight breathing difficulties when my hayfever is bad, because I get so bunged up. I have an inhaler as I am slightly asthmatic too, but have never found the need to use it with hayfever. Maybe Gaz does need to see the doc.

You dont get bunged up....your bloodvessels are enlarged and give the impression of being bunged up

Hayfever snot just runs out nice and easy

Vaseline is a good tip tho, and rub a bit under your eyes

maybe just needs to try different allergy medicines as they work differently for different people

beconase nasal spray sorts me right out, apart from still having itchy eyes for which i take benadryl one a day (or equivalent)

wearing close fitting sunglasses also helps stop the pollen getting into your system, and even blocking the sunlight fools the body into having less hayfever somehow.

Fortunately my hayfever has stopped, I get it during April and May as it's the tree pollen I am allergic to. Have been hayfever clear for about 2 weeks now and saving a fortune not having to buy boxes of Kleenex

Prednisilone (sp)

Simply nothing else worked, all the tablets, nasal sprays, eye drops shit, have been on this stuff for 2 years now, take as and when you need it, I took in on Monday at 4am, woke up with clammy eyes and blocked up nose, took these tablets and when I woke back up for work at 6 and was perfect, no need to take a day off!

Only trouble with prednisolone is that it is a steroid and only recommended for short-term use.
