not quite right
you need to use your pop/smtp settings for the isp email you are using
for example
if you have testing@btopenworld.com you would use mail.btinternet.com
if you have testing@orange.com you would use mail.orange.com
that make sense??
also some isp's with only let you send from their SMTP
if you have hotmail address you can receive but not send using your hotmail details.
(hotmail not a good example though as you cant use hotmail in outlook express no more..lol )

you need to be sending through the smtp server of the isp who's email address it is, if you are on a different ISP to this, you need to turn on smtp authentication in outlook/outlook express, and tell it to use the same settings as incoming mail.
No ISP in their right mind has open relay turned on their SMTP servers anymore

Ok,
Now, I'm not a computer genius, but i typed into www.google.co.uk email settings for freeserve customers, upon clicking the 5th link in the results i got directed to this page :
http://www.orange.co.uk/time/ret_rest_account.htm
I don't know if that's of any use to you whatsoever
