did they make a 1.6sport in bright red? thats what the plate says on a car.and if so is this an orangey red?sounds silly i know but sunburst red was orange on the xr's and rs1600i so thought it may be similar?

definitely did do a 1600 sport mk2 escort in red, yes.

as for the orangy colour, i wouldn't be surprised, but i'm not sure.

they definately made them in signal orange, my grandads wife had her mint signal orange 30k mile 1.6 sport stolen in 1986, never been seen since VKM850S was the reg

Yes, MK2's were Venetian Red and they made 1600 Sports in that colour as I had one

WWM183W was the number of it and loved that old beast

Swapped my Mitsubishi Colt ( the one that had 2 gear levers !!! ) that i paid 800 quid for, and this was way back in the day when they were worth good money ( prob around 15 years ago ! ) and sold the Sport then for £2500 few months later !!!

 

DEFO was a blood red colour on MK2, not sure of name though but defo not orangey at all.

well a mate has a mk2 and he has just stripped it down to freshen the old girl up.but we were confused,he wants it to be the right colour but the car is an orange colour outside but under the door panels its a totally different shade of what looks like faded orange.but the tags on the car say bright red we aint sure what colour its meant to be.
which is why i thought maybe it was a case of the sunburst red syndrone that was classed as red but looked orange

 

there was Venetion red...a darkish red,Signal red...which was like a pinky colour red.

i don't think the tag should say 'bright red' though.

thats the colour the inside is! but outside some one has painted it what looks like signal orange.the normal rs2k orange i think it is
