Woke up this morning - fortunately my day off - after getting a bit pissed last night, to find I had, yet again, passed out on the sofa....
Only this time I have somehow managed to break my glasses - right lense had popped out! So I tried to get it back in but the screw that holds em together had stripped part of the thread off the frame, so I couldn't get any purchase on it when trying to put the lense back in
After fumbling for an hour (with the glasses, not myself
) I had to drive from mine back to my mums, cos my opticians is still in that town!
It's only 12miles, but it's 12miles of M11 and M25 driving!
Bit fooking scary driving on the motorway without my glasses!
I mean I can see, but I can't focus, so everything is blurry and number plates, even 10ft in front of my are illegible (I'm very short sighted)
Was a rather "interesting" expirience - one I do not intend to re-enact anytime soon!!!!!
Time for some new bins I reckon.... Fortunately my optician managed to fix em (retapped the frame and used a fatter screw) but I reckon it's time for a new pair so I have these old ones as a back up in case something like this happens again
Never driven so slowly on the m'way before in my life
