always, always, always.. sometimes even just taking the car out the drive i put my seatbelt on lol (force of habit, and a good one at that)....

For the inconvenience of of stratching your arm and 'clicking' a seatbelt into place, it's a small price to pay if you're ever in a crash!

My mum never wore a seatbelt and always leaned forward as not to crease her shirt and to top that she has 9 points for speeding lmao, not a good combination.

Buckle up lads!

yeh i wear em, but i dont agree with old bill forcing people to wear them or they get fined! yes they save lives etc etc but i just think that ppl should be allowed to make they're own choices to wear one or not. after sein the adverts they have on tv if ppl dont wear em then that down to them.

Hofajoab,
anyone tell me why not to wear one?

i can , a 3 point seat belt has absolutly no use what so ever in side impact protection

i used to work for local police accident recovery for divisions and motorways , and on more than two occasions i attended accident with cars that had 'gone off' sideways either through hedges into trees, through road ironworks ( i.e railings ) and the occupants have been killed as the impact sustained to the 'B' post on at least two of the accidents have then pulled the inertia reel seat belts and strangled the wearer.

how does that grab you then ?

i dont wear seatbelts unless the conditions are very severe as i have seen more fatal accidents with belts as without , and yes the goverment will publish how many lives are saved because of belts but they dont tell you the ones that died also because of belts. its a 50/50 scenario im afraid. i think though back seat passengers should wear at all times as they cannot see the road as should passengers in the front who also dont watch the road.

I have to admit i am very slcak when it comes to putting sealt belt on. Some strange habit i got into at college where the shops were only 1/2 mile away but u had to drive ur car to impress the ladies . You know what i mean. By the time u had pulled out the car park and put the belt on u were outside the pub/chippie etc. So most of us never bothered.

never wear them at work becuase my lorry isnt fitted with them, thank fuck.always always make the kids wear them in the car, even if only going round to local shops etc.only wear them in the car if on a long motorway journey or if pissing with rain.the fiesta diesel van i used to use for getting to work,i had the displeasure of ramming it into a 9 inch thich steel post at about 40mph when i hit some black ice last january.didnt have a belt on,walked away with out a scratch!! although my knees took a bit of a knock ,but would of regardless of seatbelt.the reason i believe i was ok is 'cause the driver can hold onto steering wheel to prevent crashtest dummy effect, and air bag deffohelped too. by the way,van was completely fucked, engine came back around 8 inches, only driveshaftsstopped it coming any further, also popped 2 gearbox bolts out

I fucking hate seatbelts, never wear them and have received numerous fines from the feds for it. I have always argued the point that its my life to lose and not their choice.

When I had my crash in my fiesta I headbutted the windscreen out of the car and suffered a headache. The copper at the scene told me if I had my belt on I would have been taken by an ambulance for a broken collarbone.

Fuck that, belts suck arse

I knocked a dent in a fiesta screen once with my head (mate drove into a jaguar, mk4 fiesta)
Suffered a week from a big headache.
Don't really believe the broken collarbone thing, had plenty of accidents with my belt on too
1 where I went out a bent and the car rolled over, 2nd full on into a van, 3rd in the rear of a volvo. and then a 4th one

The first one we were 5 up in the escort, nobody got really hurt. Think I was the only one wearing a seatbelt, my mate got his collarbonething out of shape though, without seatbelt?
2nd one rammed a van full on in its side (i had right of way ) Flipped the van over. Had seatbelt on, wasn't even really stiff next day.
3rd one, just stupid, drive the old peoples astra in the back of a volvo (sunblinded ) Had seatbelt on, nowt wrong with me.
4th one, 50mph rammed a toyota carina that came out of a parking place, right over the street. Almost put his rear wheel inside the car, lol. Had seatbelt on, was just a bit sore next day

Don't really believe this seatbelt killing people stories. If its heavy side impact, possible, but full head on, no way, that's what they're designed for.
