not expert but I've had a few sets on cars that have come in and I've noticed.
the metal clip in the rubber boot that pushes into the cap snaps you can't see it but when the leads are pushed in it will make contact then vibrations causes to seperate and misfire.
the fittings on a 2wd are 90degree but 4x4 are straight which make it less prone.

With the 2wd having a right angled distrubutor cap and straight start to the leads..
And the 4x4 having a straight distrubutor pins and 90 degree angled leads...
Or have i got it wrong
I had new 909 leads on mine when I got it, but it misbehaved, had a permanent stutter, rolling road showed up bad leads, 3 out of 4 were dodgy.
I put on new MAGNECOR and solved the problem, and mine were STRAIGHT, with ANGLED CAP.
