Has anyone used their Cosworth as a wedding car? I have!
I've been asked if I can drive some friends of ours away from their wedding reception in my Escort Cosworth.
I haven't said yes yet but I feel that I should do it as they're both really good friends of mine.
Obviously by the time they leave the reception a lot of people are going to be a bit worse for wear and I'm worried about having a group of drunk people clambering round the car.
My car is a minter but most people don't understand how much these cars are worth, especially to their owners.
So what should I do?
Also how the hell do you get a girl with a massive wedding dress in a Escort Cosworth anyway?

I think it would be okay in the day but at night time when the majority of the guests will be hammered, do I really want them round my car?

I don't think they'd be very impressed with my red / pink 246K mile Astra diesel!
Not much room in the back of an esc cos its there! especially with a big old wedding dress
My pal Robn is using his minter 3 door as the brides car at his wedding in Aug. He has asked me and another friend of his with a flint saff to drive the bridesmaids and the bestman/ushers etc to the church and then to the reception. Obviously i'll be taking the bridesmaids

My fiancee is the Chief Bridesmaid and I used to play football with the groom, plus he works for Renault and gets all my Ford parts cheap for me!
A Cosworth broke? They'd never believe that!
What a dilemma!
im driving my brother in laws cossie to his wedding with my sister lol if that makes sense.. n my uncle used his saph few years back as a wedding car.. and the worse thing is at indian weddings when the bride and grrom go off the family throw coins at the car for good luck
make it look even better by putting some nice ribbon n cones around it
they think you've done it for niceness but really it will keep all the pikeys clear of your car
(go all out n stick some red carpet down leading up to the car)
if you stuck for ribbon i have some police tape that says 'POLICE LINE DO NOT CROSS' that would get the message to them

Maybe I should hire a bouncer to stop people getting within a few feet of the bodywork!

we have been debating this for ages, we get married november, and tbh i think its quite tacky, though on the flip side, the price of wedding cars for what they are is ridiculous
and yes the getting into the car with a wedding dress seems like itd be an issue, i cant imagine mine fitting into our Saff let alone an Escos, it depends how big her dress actually is
and id say cant you try and park it somewhere at the reception thats out of the way so it doesnt get damaged?
with us getting married in november i doubt anyone will be standing around outside tbh

I'm sure it'll be fine at the reception, it's just when we come to leave that the problems may start!

I'd do that job for ya with a few members of my crew
Use the car during the day but not for when they leave the reception if you are worried about it

I used my white Saff for mine
(just for me and the best man though, the wife wanted a "more traditional wedding car" )

Would have used my 3-door if it didn't drop a valve a few months before!

A mate of mine used his mint magenta saph for my wedding, he spent the entire morning dressing it up with ribbons and he got his mum to do flowers etc on the parcel shelf... I know i'm biasd, (but this was 10 years ago so it had a bit more prestige back then), but it looked better than any Roller/limo/old shed i've seen as a wedding car... And yes I was very touched he did it for me.

If they are really good mates they'll know how much the car means to you and respect that I should hope.
My mates using her dad's classic Aston, and he's taking the passenger seat out to get her in comfortably. Wont get any scratches on it either.
Nice idea though

my 100E was our wedding car, myself the best man went in the front and 2 groomsman in the back was a tight squeeze but we made it.
on the way from the church to the reception my "new" wife sat in the passenger seat with it full pushed back the dress fitted in ok.
would have no issue using it or my escort as a wedding car

There is another though! Either use your car and let the newly weds leave in style or dont and they end up in a megane looking like right plebs and you feel guilty forever LOL
