All I can remember from a course I did was that if you fit the wrong 1 it'll give a dodgy signal... I really should have paid more attention in class

If it has any red wire it will be a TITANIA one, as only a few jap cars have no red on TITANIA.
TITANIA are either 3 or 4 wire, and are 0-1volt OR 0-5volt, four wire will have a YELLOW wire.
Failing that it will be a ZIRCONIA, 1,2,3, or 4 wire.
Single wire(black) is just signal and earths through the exhaust.
2 wire is white earth, black signal.
3 wire is black signal, two whites are heater, which way round does not matter, one live, one earth
four wire are black signal, grey earth, 2xwhite heater.
ALL are 18mm x 1.5mm thread, as a general rule TITANIA tend to be longer slimmer bodies.

well after nearly cutting my arm up on the fan housing and the exhaust manifold heatsheld i just about reached the plug on the galaxy to see it has 3 white wires, 1 black and one grey.
